September –

Detroit Design Festival 9/21-9/28 -Design festival developed to showcase Detroit’s creative talents, the event will take place over an eight day period at several different venues across Detroit. The event started with an opening reception and kick-off party in New Center Park which was followed by a performance from the Nick Speed Orchestra. With too many workshops, parties, art expos and lectures to list here this festival is sure to be one that you don’t want to miss. Most events are free only two or three cost money so if you’re looking for something to do this weekend or in the next eight days the Detroit Design Festival is for you! The Detroit Festival of the Arts – the city’s most significant and sizeable arts festival offers fun for the whole family with a kaleidoscopic array of dancers, musicians, storytellers, puppeteers, jugglers and artists of all description
Detroit Oktoberfest -This is the 1st annual Oktoberfest presented by Chene Park Amphitheater & Atwater Brewery on September 23, 2011 from 5pm to 10pm. There will be music, games, drinks, and bratwurst so get there early because Beer is just 1$ from 5pm-6pm. Tickets are 5$ in advance and slightly higher at the door.
Decadence -If you’re looking for something to do in the Suburbs this weekend and you like the sound of drinks, dessert, and burlesque you should try and make it out to this Burlesque show. The event will be held at the Royal Oak Music Theater on September 23, 2011 from 7pm-2am and tickets are 22$ in advance and 30$ at the door.

October –
Red Cup Session Concert Series- It is a concert featuring some of Detroit’s young up and coming rap artist. It will be held at St. Andrew’s on Saturday October 15, 2011 from 8pm until 12am. It is an all ages show and only 10$ before 10pm and 15$ afterwards.
High Times Medical Cannabis Cup- It’s a two-day expo at Bert’s Warehouse Theater October 15-16, showcasing the Michigan medical marijuana industry and the merchandise. There’ll be seminars with leaders of the medical-marijuana movement: doctors, patients, researchers, growers, dispensary owners, and activists. You don’t need your medical card to attend the event but you will need it if you want to try some of the merchandise.
Deadmau5 – Deadmau5 will be having a concert at The Filmore Detroit on October 20th at 6pm. Tickets start at 50$ and the event is 16&up to attend!
Theater Bizarre: The Initiation- The annual underground masquerade party which will be held at The Masonic Temple on October 22, 2011 featuring acts from DEADBOLT and the Squidling Brothers Circus Sideshow. This is a great Halloween party for those looking for something spooky and tickets are only 65$.
November –

America’s Thanksgiving Parade – held along Woodward Avenue, with large helium balloons

December –

Twelve Nights of Christmas – holiday festivities held in Dearborn’s Greenfield Village
Annual Wassail Feast – a historic event held at Olde World Canterbury Village
Radio City Christmas Spectacular – Christmas festivities at the Fox Theater
First Night – December 31st, alcohol-free festival for all the family
